Trials Of Cato

The Trials of Cato, formed in Beirut back in 2015, were described by BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe as ‘one of the real discoveries on the folk circuit in recent times’.

The group, whose music is described as being ‘firmly rooted in the traditions of Ireland and Britain’ with a contemporary twist, is made up of three men who created the band while teaching English in Lebanon.

Following their debut performance on Radio Beirut in September 2015, they went on to regularly fill some of the city’s top music venues.
Originally from North Wales and Yorkshire, they returned to the UK in 2016 and have been performing to great acclaim at clubs and festivals since then.

Praised for the diversity of their material and influences, The Trials of Cato live show “invariably stuns audience wherever they play.” Whether plying their trade busking, performing in front of thousands at festivals across Europe, or frequently selling out their own club shows.
